Stainless steel bar is a general term for round steel, square steel, flat steel, hexagonal steel and octagonal steel, which is divided into pressure processing steel and cutting steel according to the processing method, and is divided into five categories according to the organizational characteristics: austenitic type, austenitic-ferritic type, ferritic type, martensitic type and precipitation hardening type.

Chinese National Standard GB/T 1220-2007

"Stainless Steel Bar (GB/T 1220-2007)" replaces GB/T 1220-1992 "Stainless Steel Bar". This standard stipulates the size, shape, technical requirements, test methods, acceptance rules, packaging marks and quality certificates of stainless steel rods, and is applicable to hot-rolled and forged stainless steel rods with a size of no more than 250 mm.

International standards and standards of advanced countries

Internationally, the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Russia, Japan and international standards are more advanced in stainless steel bar rolling, among which the United States standard has the strictest dimensional tolerance. The latest standards for stainless steel hot-rolled profiles in the relevant countries include United States ASTMA276 "Standard Specification for Stainless Steel and Heat-Resistant Steel Bars and Profiles", United States ASTMA484/A484M "General Requirements for Stainless and Heat-Resistant Steel Bars, Billets and Forgings", Germany DIN17440 "Technical Conditions for the Delivery of Stainless Steel Sheets, Hot Rolled Strips, Wire Rods, Drawn Wires, Steel Bars, Forgings and Billets" and Japan JIS64304 "Stainless Steel Bars".

Specific areas of application

304 stainless steel round bars are widely used in auto parts, aviation, aerospace hardware tools, chemical industry and other fields. Its specifications include round bar diameters from 1mm to 480mm, square bar sizes from 33mm to 100100mm, and hexagonal bar sizes from S=4mm to S=55mm. The implementation standards of these stainless steel bars include GB, ASTM, JIS specifications.
