Products Descriptio

302 cold rolled stainless steel sheet is a high-strength 300-series industrial stainless steel strictly manufactured in accordance with ASTM A240 standard. Different from soft ductile 304, crack-resistant 301L and elastic-focused 301 steel, 302 stainless steel features higher carbon and chromium-nickel ratio, delivering outstanding tensile strength, hardness and wear resistance in annealed and cold-worked status. Featured 4mm and 6mm medium-thick cold rolled specifications perfectly balance structural rigidity and processing flexibility. With precise cold rolling tolerance, flat surface and stable metallographic structure, it is the preferred industrial steel plate for manufacturing high-strength mechanical parts and wear-resistant equipment components.

4mm and 6mm mainstream medium-thick specifications are in stable stock. All products fully comply with ASTM A240 standard, supporting third-party inspection and custom processing.

Production Process & Unique Product Advantages

 Production Process

Raw material component calibration → high-precision cold rolling → stress relief treatment → surface fine finishing → flatness correction → fixed-size cutting → ASTM standard quality inspection → protective packaging

 302 Differentiated Performance

302 stainless steel is optimized for strength and wear resistance. Its higher carbon content provides stronger matrix hardness than 304 and 316L, showing excellent work-hardening effect after cold processing. The more the material is cold-worked, the higher its strength and surface hardness, making it extremely suitable for parts that require long-term friction and load-bearing. Different from 301's elastic focus and 301L's anti-cracking focus, 302 prioritizes overall structural rigidity and surface wear resistance. The 4mm and 6mm cold rolled medium-thick plates avoid the insufficient strength of thin sheets and the difficult processing of thick hot-rolled plates, achieving perfect balance of rigidity, wear resistance and processability.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is 302 stainless steel sheet used for?

302 stainless steel sheet is commonly used for springs, automotive components, precision stamped parts, kitchen equipment, industrial machinery, and decorative applications due to its excellent strength and corrosion resistance.

2. What is the difference between 302 and 304 stainless steel?

302 stainless steel contains slightly more carbon than 304, resulting in higher strength after cold working. Both grades offer excellent corrosion resistance, but 304 generally provides better weldability.

3. Is 302 stainless steel magnetic?

In the annealed condition, 302 stainless steel is generally non-magnetic. However, after extensive cold working, it may become slightly magnetic.

4. Can 302 stainless steel sheet be welded?

Yes. 302 stainless steel has good weldability using common welding methods. Post-weld heat treatment may be recommended for certain applications.

5. What surface finishes are available?

Available finishes include 2B, BA, No.4, Hairline (HL), Satin, and 8K Mirror, suitable for industrial and decorative applications.

6. Can you provide custom sizes?

Yes. JUDE STEEL offers custom thicknesses, widths, lengths, laser cutting, slitting, polishing, and PVC protective film according to customer requirements.
