1. Price Difference

304 stainless steel bar is the most mainstream benchmark grade in the global stainless steel bar market, with moderate and transparent pricing. Its price is 18%–25% lower than high-end 316L stainless steel bar, and significantly higher than 201 and 430 grades. The price of 304 is highly linked to international nickel and chromium futures, with sensitive market fluctuation and strong trading liquidity. It has stable supply, complete specifications and universal recognition in global trade. It is the preferred material for medium and high-end machinery, decoration, food equipment and outdoor engineering export projects.

2. Corrosion Resistance

304 austenitic stainless steel bar has balanced and comprehensive corrosion resistance. It has excellent resistance to atmospheric oxidation, rainwater erosion, fresh water corrosion and mild humid environment corrosion. It can operate stably for a long time in urban outdoor environment, food processing workshop, ordinary industrial workshop and indoor high-standard environment. It passes 48–96 hours salt spray test in standard atmospheric conditions. However, its resistance to high-concentration chloride, strong acid and alkali, and long-term seawater erosion is limited, so it is not suitable for coastal heavy salt spray and chemical corrosive working conditions.
