What is aviation aluminum sheet? Aviation aluminum sheet is an aluminum-magnesium alloy that has undergone special treatments such as high-temperature oxidation. It can withstand temperatures of thousands of degrees Celsius and strong impacts. It is a highly strong and corrosion-resistant aluminum product, lightweight and durable. Because it was initially widely used in high-tech fields such as the manufacture of aircraft equipment, it is called "aviation aluminum sheet."

After special treatment, it can withstand temperatures of thousands of degrees Celsius and strong impacts, and its excellent performance makes it widely used in high-tech fields such as the manufacture of aircraft equipment, along with titanium alloys. Mechanical Properties of Aviation Aluminum Sheet:
Tensile Strength σb (MPa): ≥560
Elongation Stress σp0.2 (MPa): ≥495
Elongation δ5 (%): ≥6
Note: Mechanical properties for seamless pipes. Sample size: diameter >12.5mm.
Alumina is a white powdery covalent compound with a melting point of 2050°C, a boiling point of 3000°C, and a true density of 3.6g/cm³. It has excellent fluidity and is insoluble in water, but it can dissolve in molten cryolite. It is a key raw material in aluminum electrolysis production. It possesses high hardness and strength, yet is lightweight. After undergoing a high-temperature oxidation treatment, aviation aluminum sheet inherits all the advantages of alumina, making it resistant to high pressure, impact, weld-resistant, and rust-resistant. While steel sheets are susceptible to rust and flaking after exposure to sunlight or water, oxidation treatment completely eliminates this problem, contributing significantly to aerospace and space research applications.
Aviation aluminum sheet is an aluminum-magnesium alloy sheet with an oxidized surface. It offers high strength and corrosion resistance, and is lightweight and durable. The most commonly used alloy is 7075, characterized by excellent ductility after solution treatment, exceptional heat-strengthening effects, high strength below 150°C, and exceptional low-temperature strength. However, it exhibits poor weldability and a tendency to stress corrosion cracking, requiring aluminum cladding or other protective treatments. Double-stage aging can enhance the alloy's resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Its plasticity in the annealed and freshly quenched states is slightly lower than that of 2A12 in the same state, but slightly better than 7A04. The plate also exhibits better static fatigue, notch sensitivity, and stress corrosion resistance than 7A04. 7075T651 is particularly superior, considered the finest aluminum alloy, with high strength far exceeding that of mild steel. Aviation aluminum sheet complies with national standards for aluminum sheet and strip, as well as unified standards for aluminum alloy sheet and strip.
In addition to its applications in aerospace and aircraft manufacturing, aviation aluminum sheet can also be used in blow molding (bottle) molds, ultrasonic welding molds, golf ball heads, shoe molds, paper molds, foam molding molds, lost wax molds, templates, fixtures, mechanical equipment, mold processing, and other corrosion-resistant, high-stress structural parts.
