First, avoid contact with corrosive substances. Do not let the surface touch strong acid, alkali, salt solution and chemical solvents. Long exposure to seawater, humid fog and industrial waste gas will gradually damage the protective oxide film and cause rust spots. Clean surface dirt timely with neutral detergent and soft cloth instead of harsh chemical cleaners.
Second, pay attention to processing operation standards. When cutting, bending and welding, select matched tools to prevent sharp scratches and indentation on the surface. Avoid excessive force stamping which may lead to material deformation. Control welding temperature reasonably, and clean welding slag and oxide layer thoroughly after processing to avoid local corrosion.
Third, standardize stacking and storage environment. Keep the storage place dry, ventilated and away from rain and moisture. Separate stainless steel sheets from carbon steel materials to prevent cross rust contamination. Lay protective film on surface and place isolation pads between stacked plates, avoid heavy pressure and collision that damage flatness and appearance.
Fourth, distinguish material grades for different usage scenes. Low corrosion resistant grades like 201 and 430 are suitable for dry indoor environment only. Choose 304 for general outdoor and food processing occasions. Adopt 316L or duplex stainless steel for coastal, chemical and high-corrosion working conditions to match actual demand.
Fifth, conduct regular daily inspection and maintenance. Check surface condition periodically, remove dust and foreign matters on time. Once slight rust or discoloration appears, polish and repair it promptly. Avoid long-term static load placement to prevent permanent bending deformation of thin stainless steel plates.
