No.1 Hot Rolled Surface

The No.1 finish is a typical surface condition for hot rolled stainless steel products. It generally has a dull, non-reflective appearance and is suitable for industrial applications where a decorative surface is not required.

Typical applications include:

Chemical processing equipment

Storage tanks

Pressure vessels

Heat exchangers

Industrial machinery

Structural components

Food processing equipment

For applications requiring a smoother or more decorative surface, additional grinding, polishing, or other surface finishing can be discussed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is 1.4301 the same as 304 stainless steel?

EN 1.4301 is widely considered the European equivalent designation for AISI 304 stainless steel. However, the exact chemical and mechanical requirements should be checked against the applicable standard before substitution.

What is the size of a 4×8 ft stainless steel sheet?

A 4×8 ft sheet is approximately 1219 × 2438 mm.

What is the standard thickness of a 4×8 stainless steel sheet?

There is no single standard thickness for a 4×8 sheet. Common industrial thicknesses include 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 mm, subject to availability and production requirements.

What is No.1 finish?

No.1 is a typical hot rolled stainless steel surface condition with a dull, non-reflective appearance, commonly used for industrial applications.

Can you provide 304 stainless steel sheets in custom sizes?

Yes. Custom width, length, thickness, cutting, and processing services can be provided according to customer drawings and specifications.

Is 304 stainless steel suitable for all chemical applications?

No. 304 is suitable for many chemical and industrial environments, but severe chloride exposure, strong acids, high temperatures, or specific chemical media may require 316L, duplex, or higher-alloy stainless steel. Material selection should be based on the actual service conditions.
