DN300 seamless steel pipe wall thickness refers to the wall thickness of a seamless steel pipe with a diameter of 300 mm. Seamless steel pipe is a commonly used pipe material in pipeline engineering. Due to its seamless nature, it has high-pressure resistance and excellent mechanical properties, and is widely used in the petroleum, natural gas, chemical, and shipbuilding industries.
When selecting the wall thickness of DN300 seamless steel pipe, several factors need to be considered. First, the pressure the pipeline will withstand; the greater the wall thickness, the stronger the pressure resistance. Second, the medium being transported -such as acids, alkalis, and oils -has different requirements for pipe wall thickness. In addition, factors such as temperature, pipeline installation method, and project economics also need to be considered.

Manufacturing Process of DN300 Seamless Steel Pipe
DN300 seamless steel pipes are primarily manufactured through the hot-rolling process, which efficiently produces large-diameter, high-pressure-rated pipes. The core principle involves transforming a solid steel billet into a hollow pipe without any seams.
Key Steps:
Heating & Piercing
A solid round steel billet is heated to a plastic state (above approximately 1200°C) in a furnace.
A piercing mill is used to force a piercing point into the center of the rotating billet, creating a thick-walled hollow shell (hollow bloom).
Rolling & Sizing
The hollow bloom is rolled and stretched over a mandrel in a mandrel mill. This reduces the wall thickness, increases the length, and brings the pipe closer to its final dimensions.
It then passes through a sizing mill with a series of rolls to achieve the precise specified outside diameter and roundness.
Finishing & Inspection
The pipe is cooled, straightened, and cut to the required length.
Critical quality checks are performed, including Non-Destructive Testing (e.g., Ultrasonic Inspection) and Hydrostatic Testing, to ensure structural integrity and pressure-bearing capability.
For applications requiring higher dimensional precision and superior surface finish, hot-rolled pipes can serve as mother tubes for further processing via the cold-drawing process. However, DN300 pipes are predominantly manufactured directly using the hot-rolling method.
