Product Introduction
316 stainless steel hexagonal bars are hexagonal prism-shaped metal materials made from 316 stainless steel as the base material. Their specifications range from H2 to H90, and they are suitable for temperatures ranging from -196°C to 800°C. Its chemical composition includes C ≤ 0.08%, Si ≤ 1.00%, Mn ≤ 2.00%, P ≤ 0.035%, and S ≤ 0.03%, along with 10.0–14.0% nickel, 16.0–18.5% chromium, and 2.0–3.0% molybdenum. This material offers corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and low-temperature strength; its resistance to pitting corrosion in marine environments and the chemical industry is superior to that of 304 stainless steel, and it retains good resistance to intergranular corrosion even after welding.
This product can be formed through hot working processes such as stamping and bending, making it suitable for manufacturing stainless steel bolts, nuts, and industrial components. Manufacturing Process
316/316L stainless steel hexagonal bars have good hot-working properties and can be formed through hot-working processes such as stamping and bending, without exhibiting heat treatment hardening during processing.
Unlike martensitic stainless steels, 316/316L does not undergo heat-treatment hardening during fabrication. Its mechanical properties are achieved primarily through cold working rather than heat treatment, making it easier to machine, weld, and fabricate while maintaining stable dimensional accuracy.
The low-carbon composition of 316L further reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, providing superior resistance to intergranular corrosion without the need for post-weld heat treatment in most applications.
